Our Team

Ron Mohl, Sr. – Founder, CEO &
Senior Tax Accountant

I’ve worked in tax accounting since 1979, and my career has been shaped by one central theme: bringing order, clarity, and peace of mind to complex financial situations. Even before graduating from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in December 1978, I served as an IRS VITA volunteer preparer (1974–1977), and as Treasurer of the Knights of Columbus (1974-1976).

In January 1979—just one month after graduating from FAU in Boca Raton, Florida—I launched the tax practice I had long planned to build. My volunteer experience gave me the confidence to step forward and begin serving clients right away. Building R.L. Mohl & Associates was not without challenges, but year after year the vision grew stronger, and the firm evolved into what it is today.

To broaden my practical experience as both a tax and general accountant, I also served as a General Accounting Consultant with Robert Half AccounTemps from 1984 to 2017, between May and December each year.

In that role, I solved real-world accounting challenges across a wide cross-section of industries—tracking down data-entry errors, analyzing asset, liability, and capital accounts, and preparing journal entries to correct misclassified or errant transactions. I became known for “cutting to the chase,” removing bottlenecks, and completing objectives faster than the time allotted, often earning written appreciation from the organizations I supported.

One assignment in particular strengthened my ability to listen closely and ask the right questions. A client I met at a weekend retreat for divorced and separated individuals needed a forensic audit. After completing the audit and organizing the supporting documentation, the Miami-Dade District Attorney’s Office confirmed that no additional evidence was needed due to the thoroughness of my report and analysis, which supported charges of embezzlement against a former employee.

From 2009 to the present, my client base has included partnerships, corporations, non-profits, and individual returns. I’ve always had a special focus on helping clients catch up when they are behind—especially those with two or more years of un-filed returns—by guiding them through the process with professionalism, discretion, and a no-judgment approach.

Today, our mission continues to expand with my partner, Tim, and the training of eight additional support team members. We are building a stronger service model and scaling our marketing efforts to reach more individuals and businesses who need dependable tax and accounting support—and a clear path forward.

I was called the “The Spiritual Accountant”, Feb 2010, when I introduced myself at a business networking event. I then realized that this was what I have been working as from the beginning of my career.

Every client we’ve served since then has embraced this unique approach, helping shape our mission and vision into something we’re proud to carry forward for future clients and associates. To keep that purpose at the center of our work, our daily business meetings begin with a brief prayer or meditation.

Each of our associates was selected not only for strong performance during temporary assignments, but also because they demonstrated the values and spiritual groundedness we aim to live by—both in the office and in service to clients. Today, we operate as a full team under one shared identity: “The Spiritual Accounting Firm”.

Tim Nebergall – Partner, COO

With more than 30 years of experience as a business consultant, I have helped organizations across the customer service and high-tech sectors streamline operations, improve efficiency, and navigate complex challenges. My work has spanned a wide range of industries, giving me a practical, results-driven perspective on how businesses function and how thoughtful process improvements can create lasting value.

In recent years, I expanded my expertise by immersing myself in the tax accounting field, developing a strong foundation in both the technical and advisory aspects of the profession. This journey has allowed me to blend my consulting background with a deeper understanding of tax strategy and compliance. Today, I am proud to partner with Ron Mohl in his ongoing mission to bring clarity, insight, and confidence to individuals and businesses seeking trusted guidance with their tax matters.

Brooke Nebergall, Director of AI & Digital Strategy

I serve as Director of AI & Digital Strategy for The Spiritual Accountant, leading the responsible and ethical integration of artificial intelligence and overseeing the firm’s digital communications strategy.

With more than 20 years of experience in social media and digital platforms, I have witnessed the evolution of online ecosystems from early community networks to algorithm-driven information environments. This long-view perspective informs how I approach digital strategy today: not as content distribution, but as credibility architecture. I direct our public messaging with a focus on clarity, consistency, and principled communication in spaces where trust can be easily distorted or diluted.

In parallel, I oversee the evaluation, implementation, and governance of AI systems within financial workflows. My work centers on ethical use, transparency, and structural accountability—ensuring that automation enhances fiduciary responsibility rather than introducing hidden risk or opacity. I assess AI tools through the lenses of verification, documentation standards, decision traceability, and long-term trust impact, aligning technological adoption with operational integrity.

My focus is alignment: ensuring that innovation, communication, and stewardship operate from the same foundation of ethical responsibility and client trust.
